Why are table setting and porcelain the theme of the birthday celebration?
Kadriorg's 308 birthday focuses on food culture and table-setting traditions. It is an everyday topic that conceals many fascinating stories, customs and historical rules.
A temporary exhibition, “Telling Tableware”, will open for one week in the halls of Kadrioru loss. It will feature tableware belonging to the Liphart family of Raadi Manor, porcelain that belonged to King Louis-Philippe of France, the everyday plates of Russian emperors, Johan Laidoner’s goblet and August Rei’s tea service.
At Mikkeli muuseum, the birthday programme is complemented by the exhibition “Delft Blue. Ceramic Treasures from a Private Collection”. The exhibition introduces the famous blue-and-white ceramics, the history of their production and their characteristic patterns.

Why is Kadriorg's birthday celebrated on 22 July?
Kadriorg's birthday is considered to be 22 July 1718. On that day, Peeter I and Italian architect Nicola Michetti selected the site where the future Kadrioru loss would be built.
The birthday celebration of the Kadriorg palace and park ensemble is being held in its modern format for the 26 time. The event brings together history, art, nature and activities for the whole family in one of Tallinn's best-known parks.
