Dog Show in Tallinn 2026: over 200 breeds and a thousand dogs per day over three days

16–18 October 2026 · TALLINN · FAMILY EVENT

Over 200 dog breeds, more than 1000 dogs per day, and three days of international show excitement!

16–18 October The Estonian Kennel Union’s international dog show takes place in Tallinn, bringing together dogs and their breeders from nearly ten countries. For visitors, it is an opportunity to discover rare breeds, watch competitions, and spend an unusual autumn day with the family.

If you have ever wanted to see just how different dog breeds can be, October offers a wonderful opportunity to do so. For three consecutive days, the indoor hall of the Estonian Football Association in Tallinn becomes the venue for an international dog show.

This is not a competition intended only for dog breeders. Dog lovers, families with children, and people who are just considering getting a dog and would like to learn more about different breeds are also welcome.

What can you see at the international dog show?

According to the organisers’ introduction, the show features over 1000 dogs each day, with more than 200 dog breeds represented. Participants arrive from nearly ten countries, and the dogs are judged by international judges.

Visitors can see both well-known and rarer breeds. In the rings, dogs are judged on their appearance, movement, and conformity to the breed standard. The best in the various competition classes and groups are determined during the day.

The opportunity to meet experienced breeders also makes the show interesting. If you are considering getting a dog in the future, you can find out about the temperament of a particular breed, how much exercise it needs, and what you should know about its care.

Sunday’s special moment: Supreme Best in Show – the most beautiful dog of all three days is chosen.

Why is it worth coming to the dog show with children?

The international dog show is a great fit for families with children who are interested in animals. Unlike an ordinary walk, here you can see dogs of many different appearances and sizes in a single visit, and watch how a real dog show works.

For children, the most exciting thing may be discovering breeds they have previously seen only in books or videos. You can also explain why dogs are prepared for shows and what the judges assess them on.

Important: show dogs are preparing for competitions and need peace and quiet. Always ask the owner’s permission before approaching or petting a dog. With younger children, it is also worth bearing in mind that the environment can be crowded and sometimes noisy.
